A gelled sea moss mixture can be used as a simple addition to foods that need thickening such as soups, stews, cereals, and smoothies. Or, it can be eaten as a supplement.
The shelf life will vary based on factors such as storing temperature and the cleanliness of the preparation tools. Sea moss gel is best stored in the refrigerator for no more than 2 to 3 weeks. If you would like to save longer, you can freeze it in ice cube trays for 3 to 4 months.
Making a Sea Moss gel is a useful way to add Sea Moss to your diet.
How to Make Sea Moss Gel:
1. Wash dried Sea Moss thoroughly multiple times for 2 to 3 minutes to remove any debris.
2. Soak Sea Moss in water with the juice of 1 to 2 lemons/limes for 25 minutes to remove fresh Sea
Taste.
3. Strain the lemon/lime water and rinse Sea Moss.
Add enough purified or spring water to the top of Sea Moss and let the Sea Moss sit for 6 to 8
hours until expanded or overnight.
4. Add the expanded Sea Moss to a blender with enough purified or spring water to cover and blend
until smooth. You will still use the water used to soak the Sea Moss for blending so that you don't
waste the diffused minerals.
5. Ice cube of Sea Moss gel to your drinks, foods/soups, smoothies, teas or coffee 2 to 3
times daily.
